Ms. Melissa Wright

Melissa Wright is a Multimedia Visual Artist with a deep-rooted passion for exploring emotion, identity, and cultural legacy through her work. Born of Jamaican heritage, her creative practice is deeply influenced by the vibrant colors, traditions, and rhythms of the Caribbean. This cultural lens informs not only the aesthetic choices in her work—such as bold palettes and organic forms—but also the deeper narratives she explores; ancestral memory, migration, spiritual resilience, and belonging.

Melissa Wright graduated with a BA in Fine Arts from Central Connecticut State University. She has been an Elementary Educator in Hartford County for over 10 years and a teaching Artist for various grades/ Organizations for 5.

Melissa Wright's work is currently being displayed at the "Out of Many" exhibit in the Workspace, Manchester, CT.
